Kent Rodgers
Elder
Kent and Lisa have been married since 1988. They grew up together in Delavan, IL and both attended Eastern Illinois University. They have four grown children and a grandson. They moved to Bloomington in 1996 and attended Sherwood Oaks Christian Church until 2021 when they began attending SOCC West.
Kent was raised in a Christian home and attended a United Methodist Church. He thought he was “always a Christian”, but he moved beyond inherited faith around age 35. He continues to grow in his faith daily and looks forward to serving the Lord in new and exciting ways in the years to come.
Kent was a Deacon at Sherwood Oaks for more than 20 years and became an Elder in 2020. He was part of the elders’ team that helped launch Westside in 2022 and has served as the chair of the elders since its inception. Lisa has also been active at Sherwood Oaks and Westside. Most recently participating as a Sunday morning greeter and a leader of the women’s morning Bible study.
Kent is the President of CarDon & Associates, a senior living provider which operates Bell Trace along with other campuses around the state. Lisa was an elementary school teacher before retiring to raise the family.
Kent enjoys golf, travel, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and University of Illinois sports.
